Meet the Team
Jaylah Evans, LPC-a
I have experience working with adults and adolescents of all ages, helping individuals cultivate self-esteem and a strong sense of identity. I view therapy as a collaborative process where our combined knowledge and skills create meaningful solutions. My approach is person-centered, incorporating techniques from Gestalt therapy to foster self-awareness, growth, and healing. My goal is to provide a compassionate and supportive space for individuals in need.
I earned my Bachelor's degree in psychology from Hampton University in Hampton, VA, and my Master's degree from Albertus Magnus College in New Haven, CT. During my field experience at the University of New Haven, I worked to create an inclusive and affirming environment that embraced the diverse identities, cultures, and backgrounds of the students.
In an outpatient setting, I have developed and facilitated group therapy sessions focused on skill-building, self-esteem, and identity development. I am excited to bring my clinical expertise to Divine Resilience and support clients on their journey toward healing and self-discovery.
I provide service to: children, adolescents, and adults, in terms of individual therapy, family therapy or couples counseling.

I’m here to help you navigate life’s challenges with compassion and care. Whether you’re feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or simply looking for support, I provide a safe and nonjudgmental space to help you heal, grow, and thrive.
I hold a Master’s degree through University of Connecticut (UCONN) School of Social Work. I have a strong educational background in psychology and social work. I have always been interested in better understanding people and our journeys in this life.
I’ve had the opportunity to work with people to tackle struggles such as substance misuse, life transitions, relationships, anxiety, depression, PTSD, psychosis, and the aftermath of surviving domestic violence. I have worked with teenagers, adults, families, and LGBTQIA+ individuals. Everyone’s story is different. My goal is to meet you where you are now and walk alongside you throughout your journey to wellbeing.
I utilize cognitive behavioral therapy, motivational interviewing techniques, dialectical behavior therapy, and can support you through crisis intervention. I follow a strengths based approach. If you struggle to see the strength within yourself and the wins you’ve had—big or small—I’ll be there, I’ll recognize that, and I’ll call it out for you. I value maintaining a safe space for your growth and healing.
I provide service to: children, adolescents, and adults, in terms of individual therapy, family therapy or couples counseling.
